The case highlights China's black market in organ trafficking. A scarcity of organ donors has led to a flourishing trade.

In 2007, Chinese authorities banned organ trafficking and have introduced a voluntary donor scheme to try to combat the trade.

On Monday afternoon, Apple announced the introduction of iCloud, a music service that will allow users to listen to their music from almost any Internet-connected device.

An Apple spokesperson says that iCloud and iTunes Match are not streaming services. Rather, they combine to offer what's essentially access to songs via a cloud-based locker not unlike Amazon's Cloud Drive.

経済状況がオバマの2012年選挙戦に陰を落とす
Economy shadows President Obama's 2012 campaign

A series of troubling signs for the U.S. economy threatens to dash hopes that 2011 would be a year of robust recovery — and that could prove troublesome for President Barack Obama’s reelection chances.

And the president’s would-be 2012 opponents are noticing. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who officially announces his candidacy Thursday in New Hampshire, said Tuesday on NBC’s “Today” show that Obama has been “one of the most ineffective presidents at the job at hand that I’ve ever seen.”

Japan has doubled its estimate for the amount of radiation leaked by the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, but the process of evacuating the zone around the plant has not been smooth.

In some villages where evacuation orders have been issued, Japanese residents have stayed put.
The village of Iitate, about 20 miles from the plant, has radiation levels well above those considered safe.

By Simon Lomax - Jun 10, 2011 7:01 AM GMT+0900

A nuclear review by the U.S. power industry will weigh safety upgrades at domestic plants after Japan’s reactor crisis, helping investors estimate costs from the worst atomic accident in 25 years.

Tougher regulations from the NRC aimed at preventing disasters similar to Japan’s may cost the U.S. nuclear industry more than $10 billion, according to a Bloomberg Government study released in April.
