Wireless phone networks held up well against Hurricane Irenedespite widespread losses of power.
Representatives at T-Mobile reported similar findings, saying that the damage to their networks was minimal.

It is a little different from some cases in Japan. In Japan when a big earthquake or a tsunami occurs, mos of mobile phoned networks failed in affected areas.
